Announcing....a Merger.
My act of sabotage.
I’ve been running three Substacks, and not doing a good job of it.
My original Substack, The Outer Ring, was my outlet for theological writings, sermons, and the like. My other Substack, John on Tech, was meant for my technical and business writing. I recently started a third Substack, Beholding Beauty, in which I sought to cultivate an emphasis on beauty in God’s world.
I believe all these are good pursuits, but keeping all three up to dote was getting too much.
So I’ve decided to combine The Outer Ring and Beholding Beauty into one Substack, which I’m calling “Notes from the Silent Planet.” Readers of CS Lewis will know that the “silent planet” is Earth, under the dominion of the devil. Lewis wrote in Mere Christianity:
“Enemy-occupied territory — that is what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed, you might say landed in disguise, and is calling us all to take part in a great campaign of sabotage.”
This newsletter, and my writing in general, is my act of sabotage against the Kingdom of Darkness.
